When reference is made hereafter to “we” or “us,” this always refers to the VAN Verlag GmbH. 2. For what purpose are my Data processed (purpose of processing) and on what legal basis?
In order to allow your participation in the music competition BPFYA in accordance with our competition rules, we use your communication data to perform the contract on the basis of Article 6, 1. (b) of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and for contract-related communications. We will gather the following data from you: personal identification data (you name and address); contact details (you telephone number and email address) and input data (the applications forms, photographs and recordings you sent us). We also use the Data specified above for the purposes of preventing fraud in order to protect legitimate interests on the basis of Article 6, 1. (f) GDPR.
3. Am I under an obligation to provide the Data?
In order to apply for the contest and take part in the competition, you must provide the Data, which are required to establish and perform the business relations and to perform the contractual obligations associated with the same or which we are obliged to collect by law. Without these Data, we will not be able to let you participate in the competition and conclude or perform the contract with you.
4. Who receives my Data?
We share your data with our sponsor and co-organizer the Julius Bär International Bank. Apart from that we do not disclose your personal information to third parties, especially not for marketing purposes.
5. How long are my Data stored for?
We store your communication data during the application phase of the competition. They will be erased as soon as they are no longer required to fulfill the purpose for which they were collected.
6. What rights do I have with regard to my Data?
You have the right to receive information about the personal data stored by us about your person at all times. If Data about your person should be false or no longer up to date, you have the right to require their rectification. You also have the right to require the erasure or restriction of processing of your Data as stipulated in Articles 17 and 18 GDPR. If you have provided us with Data and processing by means of automated processes is based on your consent or on a contract with you, you have the right to receive these Data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format (right to data portability).You can object to the processing of your Data as defined in Article 21 GDPR. In this case, we will no longer process your data unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
